Min endagstur til København / My day trip to Copenhagen

1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg

Her kunne man smage forskellige øl fra forskellige bryggerier (hovedsagelig dansk).

Yesterday my former hostfamily and I went to Copenhagen for a day.

Both they and I live a small town close to Skagen in the northern Jutland. Since Denmark is a small country it is physically possible to go to Copenhagen and back for a day from our town by train even my town is far from Copenhagen. But you must take 6 hours to go to Copemhagen by train, so therefore you have no time for seeing something in Copenhagen. You always needed to stay overnight in Copenhagen or to take a night train if you want to see something. But fortunately, flight tickets has been discounted and more and more cheaper than train tickets. And the number of flights has been increased for over the years. Yesterday we had a trip to Copenhagen without staying a hotel, by using a morning flight and a late flight. Of course the trip is chaper than that by using train, and we could spend time in Copenhagen almost the whole day!! Our main purpose of this trip was to go to the beerfestival Copenhagen 2010.

At 5:00 yesterday morning, we started from our town to Aalborg airport by car. Our flight taken off at 6:30, and arrived at Copenhagen airport with only 40 minutes flying. It was about 7 degree in Copenhagen. I didn't wear leggings under my skirt so I was freezing. I supposed that it is warmer in Copenhagen than in our town, but not! (It resulted buying a pair of leggins at an H&M just after they had opened in the end.)

We saw many people going to their offices from behind the window when we had breakfast at a cafe in the city area. I remembered that I had gone to my office by train early to avoid rush hour and that I often had had breakfast at a cafe when I had worked in Tokyo.

We also went to Paludan Bogcafe (Picture 1) after we walked around the Norreport station. I have been interested in this cafe but I have never been there before. It was a good cafe with a good atmosphere, and also cosy and quiet as we were in a library.

In the mornings we visited Christiansborg castle. This castle is the former royal palace. Now this is used as both the danish parliament house and the place of presentation to the Queen. I think it is interesting that the parliament is using an old castle. If this fact is likened to a histry in Japan, the Osaka castle is used as japanese parliament house now. By the way, it is worth seeing the "Gobelin tapestories" in Christiansborg castle. The tapestories are designed by Bjørn Nørregaard, a famous danish artist. The theme of design is the history of Denmark and the world (About details). I think these tapestries are highly unique and original as a Royal House's collection. I love these tapestries.

In the afternoon we visited the natinal gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for kunst) to see a Bjørn Nørregaard's exhibition (About details). I don't dislike his works. But I can't understand his works. First I need to learn about himself.

At 4:00 in the afternoon, we went to the beerfestival Copenhagen 2010 which is the place of our main purpose (Photo 2-4) (About details). Here you could taste different europian beer from various breweries (mainly danish). I had total 10 tokens. I tasted new beer from the breweries I know and beer from the breweries I didn't know. My favorite beer in the tasted is Premiun Valnød (=walnuts) from Rise brewery. I was getting tipsy with many times tasting even one tasting was 100mL beer. It was Friday yesterday, so the festival place was full up with people at about 20:00. It was difficult to move from a booth to booth.

Picture 2 - People have already waited in a line to open the gate before 16:00.

Our return flight was at about 23:00. It was at 1:00 when I went back home. It was a really really long and happy day!
